Angry dad sells $100 game for $10,000

After catching his 15-year-old smoking pot, a Canadian man sold the hard-to-get Guitar Hero III video game he bought his son for $US90 ($103) for Christmas at an online auction, fetching $US9,100 ($10,420) from an Australian buyer.

I'm not sure how to feel about this little story but the headline certainly caught my eye and it is a very neat profit. A friend's cousin visited the US recently and brought back about 10 iPhones to sell on the black market in Singapore. He didn't make as much profit from that but he made a decent amount nonetheless. I've been thinking about how one should go about exploiting pockets of opportunity like that. The rate of return on such activities is definitely higher than a lot of regular jobs, when you consider the money per hour earned.
