How to Pick Up Women at Bars

A friend pointed me to 4 Steps to Pick Up Women Like a Genius, a tongue in cheek article about picking women in bars. I guess that method might work with some women. Just as the Banker's Method might work on some women. It would be interesting to profile the women who fall for such things.

Schemes like these wouldn't fly with this bimbo. If a young guy rocks up to me and brags about being a filthy rich hotshot CEO/banker/thingamijig, all that will happen is that his pocket will be lightened (whether significantly or not depends on whether he really is filthy rich) after spending some time with me. Depending on how interesting he is or curious I am about him, I may or may not do some serious due diligence checks on him and there are several ways to go about that. That job is easier if one can get them to talk about themselves. The more they talk about themselves, the more rope you have. There are sociopathic liars out there who can lie very convincingly, but by and large, if you know how to ask the right questions, you can glean a lot from what a person says. Not necessarily by he says but from what he doesn't quite say. Better yet, if you have trusted personal connections who can independently verify that he is who he says he is, your work is cut short.

So my friend asked, would I give a guy a cookie if he said he was poor? Well, I guess that depends on how entertaining said guy is. Apart from feeling obligated to date and get married, I simply like spending time with people who can entertain me. It's actually quite easy to do that for a person who knows how to engage in pseudo intellectual conversation.
