Mail Order Groom

A good lot of personal ads aren't worth responding to but I love reading them for laughs. I came across one that made me think of a mate of mine working in London. We were discussing citizenship the other day and he'd said that it was tough getting permanent residency, much less citizenship. Apparently, even as a well educated corporate lawyer working for a major law firm, he'd have to be there for another 6-7 years before he could acquire UK permanent residency/citizenship. It's long been known that getting permanent residency/citizenship through marriage can be a shorter route than through other means and I'd suggested half jokingly to said friend that he could find a local girl to marry.

So when I saw this ad by a self described "tall, fit and sincere aussie man" looking for an Asian lady to marry for her to get an Australian permanent residency, I thought of this friend.

"Well educated, well paid, tall, dark and handsome man seeking lovely local lady for marriage. Great in the kitchen and great in bed..."

I have no idea if he's great in bed since we've been strictly platonic friends for as long as we've known each other but he's definitely a great cook (yes, he's cooked a 3 course meal for me before). So, if you're a London babe looking for a guy, drop me a line because I'd love to hook you up with this guy friend of mine. He's a great catch and I think it'll be a scream matchmaking him.
