I've finally got one flatmate in. He seems like the quiet sort, of North Indian extraction, which is fine by me. I just want someone who will pay the rent on time, keep the place clean and tidy, not damage anything and not steal my things. No drama would be good after all the problems I've been having in my personal life lately. Frankly, I would like to settle in and could really do with some peace in my life right now.
I had some initial misgivings, when he didn't want to pay the rent up front prior to moving in despite having agreed to it. Still, in the end, I got the money and he got the key and there's been no major drama after that.
I've started a record book to track any transactions made. I'm going to be reviewing my financial plan again pretty soon. I don't think my cash and asset position is terribly healthy at the moment although it appears my investment portfolio is back in the black after taking a beating for several months. It would have been good to enter the market some weeks ago, but I've had to keep liquidity for personal reasons, so I've missed the boat.
