I've just moved to a new empty place, so I've had to buy a lot of furniture. I'm big on the concept of buying with the intention to sell again -- be it stocks, real estate or furniture. In retrospect, it probably makes more sense to buy a dining set rather than buy a dining table and chairs separately.
Unfortunately for me, I'd chosen to buy my chairs from some pretty dodgy furniture dealers. Smart Choice Furniture is such a misnomer, I don't know where to begin. I know something about sales tactics and I can detect when someone's employing a technique on me a good part of the time, which really isn't an issue. A male friend went shopping with me, and it's just funny how they try to play us up, thinking we're a couple. Anyway, they artificially had a special on those chairs and I doubt they really were clearing stock on those chairs. Their delivery guys were also really irresponsible. Most delivery services would generally telephone 1 day in advance to let the customer know of approximate timings and then reconfirm 1-2 hours before on the day itself. These guys didn't even do that. I had difficulties even contacting someone from the shop and they refused to give me the contact number of the delivery guy to find out the ETA. Because of these people, I was locked in staying home an entire Sunday. They didn't even have the courtesy to let me know when they were doing their rounds of delivery and only rang me 15 minutes before they arrived at my place.
